Central Iowa Fleet Services is currently seeking skilled and motivated Diesel Heavy

Duty Truck Technicians to join our growing team in Ames, Iowa.

Position Overview

We are looking for a technician experienced in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining

Medium and Heavy-Duty Trucks, including Wreckers and Roll-Back Flatbeds. This

position involves working on both our in-house fleet and customer commercial

tractors and trailers.

Pay & Schedule

 Pay: $28–$38 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

 Schedule: Monday–Friday

 Overtime: Available

 Commission: On Call Basis for after-hours calls

Key Responsibilities

 Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems

 Perform maintenance and repairs on medium and heavy-duty trucks

 Work on equipment including Heavy Duty, Medium Duty and Light Duty vehicles

including wreckers and rollbacks.

 Work on transport equipment including semi-trucks and trailers.

 Complete preventative maintenance services

 Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues

 Ensure work is completed efficiently and safely

Qualifications

 Experience working on diesel trucks (medium/heavy duty preferred)

 Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

 Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic

codes.

 Proficient with use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

 Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

 Physical ability to lift heavy components and work in varied environments.

 Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems is a plus

 Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required)
