What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Denials Specialist position at Central Illinois Radiological Associates, Ltd.?
Central Illinois Radiological Associates (CIRA) is a private radiology group practice with 120 physicians providing radiology specialty services to ambulatory facilities, clinics and hospitals throughout Central Illinois. We are currently recruiting a full time Billing Denials Specialist to join our team.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
§ Reviews and analyzes denied claims to determine the cause and potential resolution.
§ Obtains documentation needed for appeals.
§ Monitors and track denied claims and appeal statuses to ensure timely follow up.
§ Maintains records of denial trends, appeal outcomes, and related activities.
§ Keeps abreast on payer policy changes, coding guidelines, and industry regulations.
Qualifications:
§ Associates degree in healthcare administration, business, accounting or related field. Minimum of two years related experience in revenue cycle management, medical coding, insurance claims and payer policies or equivalent combination of education and experience.
§ Understanding of payer policies, medical coding, and reimbursement processes preferred.
§ Proficient skills with Microsoft applications specifically Word, Excell and pivot tables.
§ Detail oriented and demonstrated ability to multitask.
§ Maintains strict confidentiality.
§ Builds and maintains positive working relationships with physicians, employees, customers and vendors.
§ Strong interpersonal skills, communication, customer service and phone etiquette skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers through written or verbal form.
