Duties
- Finish drywall surfaces by applying joint compound (mud), sanding, and texturing to achieve a flawless look
- Taping drywall joints with precision using drywall tape and taping tools to create smooth transitions between panels
- Install drywall panels according to construction plans and schematics, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening with hand tools and power tools
- Perform drywall repairs and patchwork on damaged or uneven surfaces, restoring them to pristine condition
- Apply various texturing techniques such as spray, knockdown, or popcorn finishes to match project specifications
- Collaborate with carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other trades to ensure drywall installation aligns with framing, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Follow safety protocols diligently by adhering to construction workplace safety regulations and using personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Experience
- Proven construction experience with a focus on drywall finishing, mudding, taping, and texturing techniques
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and construction plans for accurate project execution
- Familiarity with hand tools such as taping knives, sanding blocks, t-squares, and caulking guns; proficiency with power tools like drills and screw guns
- Knowledge of metal stud framing, plastering, stucco application, flooring installation, and masonry is a plus
- Experience in restoration industry work including water damage remediation and mold remediation is advantageous
- Understanding of construction estimating processes and ability to interpret technical drawings enhances project accuracy
