Veterinary Assistant

Do you enjoy working in the medical field? Do you have a passion for working with horses? If so, a Veterinary Assistant at Central Georgia Equine Services, Inc. may be the position for you!

Specific responsibilities include:

• Daily care of patients including medications, grooming and assisting with prescribed treatments.
• Cleaning and maintenance of medical supplies, equipment and treatment facilities.
• Assisting in procedures and the restraint of horses for examinations, treatments and surgical procedures.

This is a part time position with flexible scheduling. Shifts begin at 8am. One day on call per week, one weekend on call per month.

Skills/Requirements

• Previous experience with horses
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to lift at least 50lbs
• Being able to stand for extended periods, walk and jog.
• Being able to demonstrate a concern for and understanding of horses
• Able to read, speak and understand English

· Good communication, customer service and math skills.
