Description

Central Life Sciences’ Agricultural Products Division is focused on delivering insect management solutions for challenging pests in livestock, grain storage and processing, horticulture, turf, along with ant control in food crops. We have an outstanding opportunity available for a Sales Development Manager supporting our livestock/dairy accounts. The successful individual will be responsible for supporting sales and territory management along with market planning and product adoption in their assigned area. While this role is a remote, home-office based field sales position, desirable candidates will spend a considerable amount of time out in the field employing consultative/solutions-based selling techniques. Desirable candidates will be based in the upper Midwest, specifically Minnesota, with the willingness to travel into Wisconsin and Iowa.

We need organized and knowledgeable individuals with a strong agricultural background who can follow through on key business opportunities for insect management solutions for large and small-scale dairy operations. The sales development manager will implement successful business development plans in concert with corporate objectives, supporting both larger national accounts as well as regional accounts; he/she will report on market conditions and competition and develop market assessments for our product portfolio in the assigned areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Work with sales manager and business manager to achieve target market development and sales targets in assigned area for premise fly control products
  • Build and foster strong relationships with distributor and large dairy production customers
  • Develop IPMs (Integrated Pest Management) plans with Central products leveraging our robust internal technical services team
  • Report market conditions and competitive environment to the management team
  • Develop and execute innovative market adoption strategies/tactics that drive sustainable sales growth and are in alignment with Central Life Sciences vision/mission/objectives for products in assigned area and/or accounts
  • Partner with sales, marketing, and purchasing leaders at key accounts to develop and execute strong field sales strategies that drive mutual revenue increases, expand market share, and foster transformational relationships with our customers
  • Implement account plans that achieve sales objectives with the ability to pivot accordingly in a market that is consistently evolving and shifting with industry changes
  • Accurately forecast customer product needs on monthly & annual basis
  • Manage company resources for highest ROFE (return on funds expended): expenses, marketing funds, advertising guidance, company equipment, etc.
  • Complete administrative and reporting responsibilities as requested
  • Report monthly on variance against budgets volumes/expenses and sales activities
  • Actively participate in key industry associates, trade shows, seminars, and meetings
  • Provide sales manager, sales operations & business management with continual marketplace feedback, product management suggestions, product sales forecasts, and key business opportunities
  • Utilizes S.M.A.R.T. Goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time oriented) in business plans
  • Partner with regulatory and technical development teams to assure most effective customer solutions for product sales. Assists in product development as it relates to customers and marketplace

Qualifications

  • Strong experience/background in dairy operations
  • Proven successful sales performance
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong field-based marketing and business planning skills
  • Core background in sciences: chemistry, biology, nutrition and entomology
  • High energy and enthusiasm for market development
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced work environment
  • Innovative and driven with a team-player mindset in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong organization and MS Suite skills, Salesforce experience preferred

Minimum Experience & Education

  • BS/BA degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness, Ag Economics, Ag Education, Entomology, or other related scientific degree
  • 3 years sales experience in Life Sciences Industry; dairy (preferred), feed, agrichemicals, or livestock
  • 3 years of account management experience, preferably with distributors or large animal production operations

Work Environment

  • Overnight travel approximately 70%: frequent car and airline travel; hotel sleep accommodations
  • Attendance at National and State Trade meetings; presentations for product training and producer meetings
  • Home office conditions when not actively traveling in region. Variation in work hours is necessary due to employee and customer schedules, special projects, deadlines and other business activities.
