Summary
The Mixing Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to machines that mix ingredients used for production and ensures results comply with specified batch requirements.
Measures Of Success
- Reads work orders to determine batch specifications or information.
- Weighs or measures ingredients to ensure conformance to batch requirements.
- Dumps or pours specified amounts of materials into machinery or equipment.
- Mixes or blends ingredients by starting machines and mixing for specified times.
- Clears jammed materials or other items from machinery or equipment.
- Observes the mixing process and monitors equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Collects samples of mixes for testing.
- Uses a forklift or other equipment to move, dump or transfer raw materials to mixing equipment.
- Keeps area clean, safe, and up to code.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds; ability to sit, stand and /or walk for up to 3 hours at a time in an 8-hour day; ability to frequently grasp, push, pull, bend and climb.
Candidate Attributes
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1 years previous production experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience preferred.
- 1 years previous machine operation experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- General mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Knowledge of production and plant processes.
- Attention to detail.
- Meets attendance requirements and is on time.
- Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, product irritants, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasionally required to work in high places and confined spaces.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. But higher levels of noise are marked by signs.
- First shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Occasional overtime.
- Starting wage is $17.50-$18.20/hr DOE
- This position pays $17.50-$18.60 per hour depending on experience
