Clean and Inspect

Description

This position is in charge of removing excess silicone from exterior corners of finished aquariums, sanding corners to remove sharp edges, adding labels/other company information, doing a final quality inspection, preparing product for shipment, and stacking aquariums on a pallet.

Shift Details: Monday – Thursday, 5am – 3:30pm with Potential Overtime on Friday

Location: Plant 1

Key Responsibilities

• Determine daily assignments.
• Add company brochures and any other required attachments.
• Use razor blade to remove all excess silicone on outside of tanks.
• Visually inspect all corners and surfaces for scratches, blemishes, air bubbles and proper alignment.
• If necessary, use sanding block to remove sharp edges from corners.
• Wrap/fold cardboard around tanks as required.
• Place aquariums on pallets according to prescribed shipping plan.
• Separate and record all rejects.
• Use pallet jacks to move pallets.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Ability to work as a team member and work cooperatively with an assigned partner.
• Perform repetitive tasks with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  
  

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to stand/walk for a 10-hour shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Plant environment with periodic visits to the office area of the plant.
• Exposed to any number of elements, but none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
