Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Waterproofing Estimator role based in Sanford, FL. The Waterproofing Estimator will review project plans, specifications, and addenda to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material/labor estimates for waterproofing scopes. Responsibilities include obtaining and analyzing vendor and subcontractor quotes, preparing detailed bids and proposals, and updating estimates based on design changes or value-engineering options. The role involves collaborating with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to clarify scope, resolve discrepancies, and support project handoff. The estimator will also maintain cost databases, track historical pricing, attend pre-bid meetings as needed, and support clients with timely responses to questions and revisions.
Qualifications
- Strong estimating skills, including reading construction plans, performing quantity takeoffs, and developing detailed cost estimates for waterproofing scopes.
- Knowledge of waterproofing systems, moisture protection products, and related construction methods for commercial, government, and private projects.
- Proficiency with estimating and productivity tools (e.g., takeoff software, spreadsheets), and solid MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Attention to detail with strong analytical, math, and problem-solving abilities to ensure accurate pricing and scope clarity.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams, vendors, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Previous experience as an estimator in construction, waterproofing, roofing, or a related trade is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites as needed for project walks, assessments, or pre-bid meetings.
