Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, proactive Custodian/Maintenance team member to help maintain our school’s facilities and ensure a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position includes custodial duties as well as basic maintenance tasks, requiring a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas
- Refill hygiene and cleaning supplies, remove trash, and sanitize surfaces
- Conduct general maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, minor plumbing repairs, door adjustments, and small paint touch-ups
- Assist with routine inspections of building systems and equipment
- Identify and report potential safety or repair issues to the Facilities Manager
- Support event setup and breakdown (e.g., furniture, AV equipment, tents, tables)
- Ensure sidewalks, entryways, and outdoor areas remain clear and safe
- Maintain all cleaning and maintenance tools in proper working order
- Follow all health and safety procedures and emergency protocols
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial or general maintenance roles (school or institutional setting preferred)
- Ability to perform minor repairs, use hand tools, and operate cleaning equipment, electrical, and HVAC troubleshooting is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Positive, service-minded attitude with a team-first mindset

Schedule
- Monday to Friday - hours vary morning, afternoon to evening.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours for events or urgent repairs.
