Chief of Family & Community Empowerment

Position Summary: The Central Falls School District seeks an innovative, energetic, bold leader to ensure that the district lives out its values of equity, excellence, and community empowerment through active, purposeful capacity-building and advocacy support for our families and the community as a whole. Increasing opportunities for families and schools to meaningfully collaborate to better the student experience Creating pipelines for CF residents to join the Central Falls School District Developing and updating our policies to address historic inequities and build a more equitable school system Designing training programs and other information-sharing opportunities to allow families to be active participants in their child’s learning pathway Establishing effective communication channels allowing families to stay informed and updated on all district initiatives and family and parent engagement events Reimagining and redesigning the Office of Family & Community Empowerment (FACE) Responsibilities Lead the team, including the Director of Family Supports, work closely with HR to recruit and train future paraprofessionals, and the equity coordinator, as well as the team of Home School Liaisons Increase family support for and participation in the Central Falls Schools Parent Passport: Registration, Academic awareness, After-School Opportunities Increase student attendance by working with families and staff through the design of attendance initiatives, systems, and programs Expand and establish pipelines for CF residents to join the Central Falls School District including: Parent College Parent to Para TA to BA Dual Expansion Voces de Poder Induction program for non-certified employees to ensure retention and growth opportunities of CF connected team members Lead community partnerships in order to provide: Wrap-around services for students and families Increase enriching opportunities for students after school Training and advocacy for families and community members Increase the parent engagement opportunities throughout the district to include, but not limited to: parent-teacher conferences, family literacy nights, information sessions, curriculum nights, social services, and other out-of-school time conversations that build capacity of families to be active members of the learning process for their child Connect the city of CF services and opportunities to CFSD conversations involving parents, their children, and the support necessary to be successful life-long learners In addition to the responsibilities above, the Chief of Community Engagement will also be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by the superintendent.
