What You’ll Do
- Lead engineering strategy and implement appropriate methods/techniques aligned with long-range plans.
- Develop and execute Engineering & Operations long-range plans and annual construction work plans.
- Provide day-to-day engineering guidance on technical issues.
- Direct and coordinate operating personnel and outside contractors; promote and enforce safe work practices.
- Ensure 24/7 coverage for outages and emergency response; assist in emergency/outage situations as needed.
- Oversee right-of-way and transportation functions.
- Develop, recommend, and monitor Operations/Engineering policies and procedures.
- Prepare, recommend, and manage the annual department budget and work plan.
- Lead people operations for the department: staffing approvals, hiring support, training/mentoring, performance reviews, and discipline when necessary.
- Serve on the senior leadership team and provide input on cooperative/business decisions.
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll report to the Assistant General Manager/COO and lead the Engineering & Operations department. You’ll also work closely with builders, vendors, and Cooperative members to ensure safe, efficient, and responsive service.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electric utility engineering.
- 10 years of related industry experience preferred
- Experience with supervision/leadership responsibilities preferred
- Working knowledge of electric utility engineering and operations (transmission, distribution, and service) aligned to the role’s essential functions.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, organization, analytical, management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high degree of professionalism.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
