Position: Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (Grades II-IV)

Starting Salary: Starting at $26.00, or DOQ

Status: Full Time, Benefited

Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent or Lead Operator, performs skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment systems.


Responsibilities

Checks and assures that all stages of the wastewater treatment processes are maintained in working condition; periodically check pumps, flow, mechanical, and chemical processes, maintain, clean, inspect, repair and test various pump stations. May monitor various types of gauges and systems and make adjustment according to instructions. May, when requested, act as a laboratory analyst/operator under the direction of the Laboratory Personnel.

 

Qualifications

Graduation from a standard senior high school or GED equivalent.

Minimum Experience as follows:

 

-     Five (5) years of experience in treatment plant operations (Grade IV Operator)

-     Four (4) years of experience in treatment plant operations (Grade III Operator)

-     Two (2) years of experience in treatment plant operations (Grade II Operator)


An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Must possess a valid Utah State Driver License and be able to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months.

Must pass alcohol and drug test.

Must be able to complete basic physical requirements of job, including lifting 50 pounds, walking ½ mile and climbing 30 stairs, reaching, stooping, grasping, balancing, kneeling, and crouching.

Must be willing to work on-call (24-hours).
