Position Overview:

We’re looking for a motivated, team-oriented Outside Sales & Operations Support Representative to help expand our customer base and strengthen operations at our Sycamore, IL facility.

This is a hybrid role; part business development, part operational support. You’ll spend time on the road meeting local shippers, carriers, and 3PLs within roughly a 100-mile radius to promote our cross-dock services. When business demands it, you’ll also jump in to assist the warehouse team helping restack pallets, organize freight, or ensure smooth daily operations. If you enjoy building relationships and don’t mind getting your hands dirty when needed, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and visit prospective customers throughout Northern Illinois to promote cross-dock, transloading, and storage services.
• Build strong relationships with local shippers, carriers, and logistics partners.
• Understand customer needs and develop customized service solutions.
• Support warehouse operations during peak times, including helping restack pallets, organize freight, and assist with dock activities.
• Collaborate with warehouse and dispatch teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate sales activity reports and customer contact records.
• Represent Central Cross Dock with professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of sales experience (preferably in logistics, transportation, or warehousing).
• Willingness to assist in hands-on warehouse work when needed.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively in the field.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of freight handling or warehouse operations a plus.
