GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Provides entry-level to routine (journey-level) nursing assistant work. Work involves providing for the care, treatment, and general welfare of patients. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates effectively with outside agencies including pharmacies and other health care facilities on behalf of Central Counties Services.
- Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of all services rendered.
- Monitors patients for treatments and procedures and reports changes in condition to nursing staff.
- Accurately measures and record vital signs including height, weight, body mass index, pulse, blood pressure, and temperature.
- Collects specimens for routine laboratory tests on samples within scope of training and certification.
- Provides information regarding specific health goals as delegated by nursing staff.
- Conducts appropriate screening tests.
- Manages, under nursing supervision, medication inventory and required record keeping.
- Prepares patients for tests, therapy, or treatments.
- Assists medical staff in examining and caring for patients.
- May inventory medical supplies or instruments.
- Clearly communicates, both verbally and in writing, consumer needs to the appropriate interdisciplinary team member.
- Follows all proper precautions as required for infection control, and provides consultation for Quality Management, as needed.
- Performs delegated nursing interventions and consults with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care for all clients.
- Reviews client records to ensure appropriate time for medication refill and release and accurately document medication release to clients in client record, as required.
- Demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness are required for the 8-5 work day or agreed upon hours 100% of the time, to ensure consistency and completeness of program’s processes.
- Professional Development - Successfully complete training required to maintain skill competency and cross training to ensure consistency across program procedures. Complete continuing education as required by professional standards and the Center.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/Education/Licensing/Certification
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalents required. Experience in nursing assistant work preferred. CNA or CMA certification is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
