The Fairfield Y is looking for a Head Lifeguard to join our team and help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for our community. As a leader in our aquatics department, you will provide supervision for lifeguards, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and support high-quality, member-focused aquatic programs. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support a team of lifeguards, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Perform all lifeguard duties, including water surveillance, rescues, and first aid as necessary.
- Conduct in-service training for staff on CPR, first aid, and water rescue techniques.
- Assist with scheduling lifeguard shifts and ensuring proper pool coverage.
- Monitor pool chemical levels and respond accordingly.
- Act as an ambassador for YMCA aquatics programs, engaging with members and promoting a positive environment.
- Enforce YMCA policies, including child abuse prevention measures.
- Maintain physical presence on the pool deck, remaining alert and ready to respond to emergencies.
