Central Coast Psychological Services (CCPS) is seeking a dedicated Associate Therapist for a part-time assignment at one of our dedicated school sites within the Lucia Mar Unified School District (LMUSD).
Intended Start Dates: August or September of 2026 (LMUSD School Site)
In-Person Location: Arroyo Grande, CA
Supervision: Directly supervised by experienced Clinical Supervisors reporting to our Clinical Director, Kristyn Collins, PhD.
Your Role:
As a school-based Associate or Practicum Therapist, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy and behavioral support directly on campus.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual therapy
- Conduct comprehensive intake sessions and create tailored treatment plans
- Facilitate client assessments and provide clear, actionable feedback
- Offer conflict resolution and crisis intervention when necessary
- Perform mandated reporter duties responsibly
- Attend and actively participate in weekly supervision meetings
- Maintain a consistent schedule and uphold appointment commitments
- Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Foster open communication with supervisors and peers
- Engage in training sessions focused on racial, cultural, and LGBTQIA inclusivity
- Collaborate effectively and respectfully with teachers, school counselors, administrators, and all staff
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion or enrollment in a master’s degree program from a regionally accredited institution in the fields of psychology, social work, or counseling.
- Licensure: Active application or possession of an Associate number with the California BBS (AMFT, ACSW, APCC) preferred.
- Insurance: Professional liability insurance.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children, youth, and economically disadvantaged communities is highly valued. Knowledge of school administration and systems preferred.
- Skills: Verbal and written communication, strong time management, HIPAA compliance, and multicultural awareness.
- Preferences: Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are highly preferred; familiarity with TherapyNotes is a plus.
Compensation:
School site shifts are typically 7-8 hour days during school hours and are paid at $40 an hour.
Documentation and supervision time required outside of scheduled school site shifts will be paid at $25 an hour.
Schedule:
Seeking 1-3 days per week at the school site. Additional hours at the private practice site may be available for associate level therapists interested in more hours. Private practice therapy is paid by completed appointment at a higher rate. There is a bilingual differential for those fluent in Spanish at the private practice.
