Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty and addictions. The Golden West is a five-story historic building located in the Old Town neighborhood of NW Portland, consisting of 73 single-room occupancy units. All units are subsidized through CCC’s Housing Rapid Response Program or Community Engagement Program.
Schedule: Tuesday - Sunday, 11:00pm - 7:30am
Location: Golden West, 707 NW Everett St. Portland, OR 97209
Compensation: Starting at $20.78 per hour, could increase depending on experience and internal equity

Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of chemical dependency, addictions and mental health issues preferred.
- Experience or familiarity using computers for basic functions (data entry, word processing).
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull, lift heavy objects, and climb stairs several times a day.
- Ability to adhere to Central City Concern’s drug-free workplace which encourages a safe, healthy and productive work environment and strictly complies with the Drug-Free Work Place Act of 1988. An employee shall not, in the workplace, unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess or use a controlled substance.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must not actively be on parole or probation.
- Must adhere to agency’s non-discrimination policies.
- Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, and residents/program participants with diverse backgrounds, religious views, political affiliation, cultural backgrounds, life-styles, and sexual orientations and treat each individual with respect and dignity.
- Greet and direct clients, document client interactions, and provide information and updates to day shift staff.
- Interact with clients over course of shift as appropriate.
- Provide support and basic resource information to clients.
- Monitor building/client common areas.
- Conduct periodic inspections of common areas in the building to monitor building/clients.
- Generate reports, routine computer input; create correspondence and filing as directed by team lead.
- Log events/ incidents using factual –observation based documentation.
- Obtain urinalysis from clients as directed by STP/ARC/ DCP case management staff or team lead.
- Update STS area with appropriate resource information as directed by Supervisor.
- Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners' and outside providers' patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.
- Gather, edit, and refine program boilerplates and impact data. Help to keep files organized and updated.
- Adhere to all CCC policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Attend all required meetings and trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic knowledge of chemical dependency as a disease, treatment and intervention methods.
- Relevant or adequate knowledge of CCC health services and area resources.
- Ability to work as a team member and to establish priorities.
- Ability to display a non-judgmental attitude, and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of community and social agencies, and self-help groups.
- Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work and maintain professional composure in an environment where people may be verbally hostile.
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Detail oriented; ability to maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork.
- Ability to learn and apply training instruction.
- Knowledge of de-escalation methods or ability to be trained in de-escalation methods.
- Ability to interact respectfully and effectively communicate with clients, co-workers, corrections personnel, police, merchants, the public at large and supervisor.
- Ability to provide advocacy, as appropriate.
