Bookstore Manager
The Bookstore Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the operations of the Bookstore while advancing the mission and vision of the University. The Bookstore Manager is responsible for the overall appearance and reputation of the store onsite, online, and at events. They are to be well-versed on the three main markets that the Bookstore serves: students, churches, and the community.
Specific Responsibilities
● Impressions: Make the bookstore visually appealing, spiritually beneficial, and safely navigated at the onsite store, online, and at remote events.
● Promotion: Develop and maintain an advertising and marketing plan to increase sales and customer base, as well as being a resource that furthers the Kingdom. Increase social media presence. Find new ways to promote the Bookstore that drive traffic and increase sales.
● Textbooks: Work closely with the Academics Department to maintain a current textbook list. Source and provide any physical copy books that may be needed for students.
● Inventory: Determine the best sources in obtaining inventory based on pricing, availability, service, returnability, and other criteria. Maintain a proper level of inventory, achieving one turn or less in all categories. Understand the market to keep in stock what is selling. Keep on top of inventory and returns so as not to have older inventory taking up marketable space. Manage the physical count process of inventory at least annually. Be knowledgeable about products, with special attention to the specific needs and concerns of the Restoration Movement.
● Collaboration: Collaborate with all departments on campus to meet their resource needs.
● Revenues: Secure new revenue sources annually. Stay up to date with the industry and be innovative
● Operations: Perform or oversee all aspects of the daily operations. This includes opening and closing procedures, helping customers, processing transactions, cleaning, processing new shipments of inventory, processing returns, resetting displays, etc. Help resolve customer issues and complaints.
Administrative Responsibilities
● Develop and oversee the annual budget with the goal of making a profit.
● Be available for the audit, producing reports, and answering questions.
● Perform all periodic operations, including end-of-month reporting.
● Develop, analyze, and report on key performance indicators and metrics, including sales, expenses, customer counts, marketing plan, types of customers, and related data to ensure the profitability of the bookstore.
● Establish and maintain a policy and procedure book that provides all details of the bookstore.
● Work with the HR Department to select, hire, and train new bookstore employees and implement discipline and termination procedures when necessary.
● Develop, motive, and mentor staff for continuously improving performance and skills
● Conduct employment reviews of staff at least annually.

Physical Requirements
● Ability to stretch, stand, walk, bend, climb, stoop, and kneel as required to set up merchandise and displays
● Ability to lift and/or carry boxes and materials of at least 40lbs
● Ability to stand for extended periods of time
● Ability to work weekends and travel
● Ability to work long days during conferences, shows, and other events
Education and Position Requirements
● Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience
● A valid Class E Driver’s license may be required to transport students.
● Ability to use computer software such as POS Software, Microsoft Office, Student Information System, Google Suite, etc.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
