Lead Teacher
Article 7, Chapter 110 of the North Carolina General Statutes and Section .0100 of the Child Care Rules defines the following staff member in a child care center as follows:
Lead Teacher: An individual who is responsible for planning and implementing the daily program of activities and is in charge of a group of children in a child care center.
Position Summary:
The Lead Teacher is responsible for the academic and social-emotional growth and development of all children in their care in an environment where Christian values are integrated and demonstrated. Lead Teachers are also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and local governing contracting agencies.
Primary Responsibilities:
· The Lead Teacher shall be responsible for the planning and implementation of the approved curriculum. This will include but is not limited to:
o Preparing written lesson plans weekly in advance.
o Having supplies ready as needed for the week.
o Arranging the physical environment of the classroom
o Be a professing Christian and an active member in a local church.
o Attend all training opportunities provided for Central Child-Development Center and all staff meetings called by the director.
Qualifications:
o Must be at least 18 years of age.
o High School diploma or equivalent.
o Must have, or complete, the NCECC or its equivalent.
o Must have at least two years relevant work experience.
o Ability to relate positively to young children, parents and staff.
Other:
o Certificate in first aid and CPR.
o Documentation of Tuberculin-free condition
o Criminal Background Check
