Central Care Cancer Center is hiring a d Nurse Scribe (RN or LPN) to join our Radiation Oncology team in Bolivar, MO. This role serves our radiation oncologists by providing clinical and administrative support. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate strong communication.
Essential Functions
- Accompany the medical provider during patient exams and accurately document patient history, assessments, imaging results, treatment recommendations, diagnostic results, and treatment plans into the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Input orders as directed by the physician including lab tests, referrals, diagnostic imaging, and medications.
- Prepare and update documentation related to simulation appointments, treatment planning, and patient education materials.
- Track and ensure timely documentation of weekly on-treatment visits (OTVs), follow-ups, and treatment summaries.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide post-treatment care.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, lab results, and overall progress.
- Effectively communicate medical terminology regarding the patient's condition and treatment plan.
- Educate patients on treatment procedures and reinforce physician instructions.
- Provide patient education and reinforce instructions related to radiation treatment, symptom management, and follow-up care.
- Uphold HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
- Assist with clerical and administrative tasks as needed to improve clinic flow and physician productivity.
Job Experience and Requirements
- Active RN or LPN license in the state of Missouri or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of 1-year medical experience, oncology experience a plus.
- Strong familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and EMR systems (experience with radiation oncology software a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
- Excellent documentation and typing skills (50 WPM preferred).
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate clearly.
Schedule & Work Setting
- Full-time, Monday-Friday 8:00AM – 4:30PM.
