FLSA Status: Full-Time, Benefit Eligible
Days/Hours: Scheduled 40 hours per week; Tuesday - Saturday evening shifts (start time will vary between 11 am and 2 pm)
Rate of Pay: $19.50/hour
Reports to: Component Manufacturing Manager
Location: Fresno, CA
Job Summary:
The Laboratory Component Technician prepares components from whole blood collections.
Essential Responsibilities
· Component preparation, including quality control and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
· Boxing of plasma and other products for manufacturing
· Perform and document Preventive Maintenance on all equipment used for component preparation
· Troubleshoot problems associated with component preparation or instrumentation
· Perform special procedures such as washing of units, freezing, and deglycerolization
· Contribute to review and update of Component SOP’s, training forms and records, and component worksheets and forms
· Demonstrates alignment with and adherence to the company’s core values in all interactions, decisions, and work activities; serves as a role model for fostering a positive, respectful, and ethical workplace culture
· Employees in this role are entitled and expected to take compliant meal and rest periods in accordance with California law
· This position requires consistent, on-time attendance in accordance with company policy. Excessive tardiness or absenteeism may impact performance and employment status.

· High school diploma or equivalent, required
Skills
· Manufacturing experience, preferred
· Experience working in a laboratory or the healthcare industry, preferred
· Basic medical terminology a plus

- Occasional slippery walking surfaces
- Infrequent exposure to dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, mask or goggles
- Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens
