Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on school buses
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Conduct DOT-required inspections and maintain accurate service records
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and compliance standards
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to keep the fleet running efficiently
- Respond to road calls when needed
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience as a diesel, fleet, or heavy-vehicle mechanic
- Familiarity with school bus or commercial vehicle systems
- Understanding of DOT regulations and inspection procedures
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass background and drug screening
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and work in a shop environment
