What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Veterinary Technician position at Central Bucks Veterinary Hospital?
We have been blessed to be growing a comprehensive team of highly skilled individuals that have greatly contributed to our practice, and we are now looking to add one more experienced veterinary technician as our community presence grows and we prepare to hire an additional veterinarian!
Schedule
We are looking for a full-time or part-time candidate. We are open Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm and shifts are scheduled from open to close. Part-time candidates must be able to work at least two of the days in the week listed. Full-time team members work 4 days per week of the Monday-Friday shifts.
All team members work every other Saturday from 8 am - 12:30 pm.
Shifts are scheduled 2 months in advanced with the intention to keep similar schedules to allow all team members predictability for their personal lives. We are very passionate about providing our team with a strong work-life balance.
Skills
Ideal candidates are experienced veterinary technicians that will possess a combination of essential skills that enhance their ability to perform effectively in this role:
- Multi-tasking in-patient management and treatments, doctor appointment diagnostics and treatment, and independent technician appointments.
- Confident anesthesia monitoring and surgical patient management.
- Proficient in veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities to manage appropriate and professional client education.
- Ability to safely work closely with dogs, cats, and small farm animals (goats, sheep, horses).
- Understanding of pet care practices to provide accurate information to clients.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work on your feet regularly as this is an active role, and work with dogs, cats, and small ruminants (sheep, goats, alpacas).
- Passion to learn and ability to readily implement new strategies and technology.

Qualifications:
- High school degree
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Certification and licensure (preferred)
- Experienced veterinary technicians with greater than 3 years of experience required
- Emergency and anesthesia experience required
