Hours/Weeks: 37 Hours | 52 Weeks

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Kings Trust Development Worker to join our Adult & Community Learning & ESOL department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Kings Trust Development Worker, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Learner Support & Skills Development – Supports the King’s Trust Team programme by providing academic underpinning, delivering basic skills support and helping learners develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to achieve their goals.
  • Learner Planning & Progress Monitoring – Establishes individual learning plans, conducts reviews, evaluations and assessments, and monitors learner progress to ensure positive outcomes and continuous development.
  • Programme Recruitment & Promotion – Assists with the recruitment of learners and promotes the King’s Trust Team programme to employers, community organisations and other stakeholders to maximise engagement and opportunities.
  • Administration & Compliance – Supports record keeping, attends meetings, undertakes risk assessments and ensures learners comply with health & safety requirements and programme expectations.
  • Professional Responsibilities & Development – Participates in training and appraisal activities, supports continuous improvement and upholds safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and professional development responsibilities across the programme.

About You

  • Qualifications & Core Knowledge – GCSE English (or equivalent), willingness to achieve GCSE Maths, and a good general education with Level 3 qualifications, supported by an understanding of Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, safeguarding, health & safety and work placement requirements.
  • Experience & Learner Support – Experience supporting learners, managing challenging behaviour and understanding the needs of children, young people and vulnerable adults, with the ability to deliver Basic Skills and support learner development.
  • Communication & Relationship Building – Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to motivate learners, build confidence and work effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • Organisation & Teamwork – Strong organisational and time management skills, able to work collaboratively within a team, contribute positively to shared objectives and uphold the college’s values of Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness and Honesty.
  • Professionalism & Flexibility – Committed to safeguarding, professional boundaries and continuous development, with a flexible approach to travel, working across locations and maintaining awareness of health & safety requirements.
