What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Credit Officer position at Central Bank?
The Chief Credit Officer reviews and performs quality analyses for commercial loans to prospective and existing clients. This position assures that these analyses are accurate, objectively present the risk of the transaction, and address the bank’s ability to be repaid. Manager will be required to manage credit analysts, which includes assigning tasks, reviewing reports, determining risks and rewards, compiling data, and organizing presentations for upper management. The individual in this position will also be responsible for overseeing the management of the Loan Administration / Documentation Department. Providing guidance and support as needed. Also responsible for conducting relationships and activates consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
Implementation of credit policies and procedures as well as the coordination of credit administration activities for a portfolio of loans.
Ensure that loan and collateral is adequate and that ongoing credit review activities are completed.
Manage the performance of a team of credit analysts. Providing feedback, coaching and development to ensure accuracy of work and consistency with credit policies.
Determine the creditworthiness of potential borrowers, with goal of minimizing risk.
Manage, maintain and review various reports to include but not limited to; Market Conditions Report, Concentrations of Credit Report, Large Loan, Problem Loan, CRAM, Past Due, etc.
Provide credit structure guidance on proposals presented by loan officers.
Monitor credit reviews, manages portfolio review process.
Serves on the Appraisal Review Committee and as a voting member of Commercial Loan Committee.
Completion of portfolio segmentation and analysis.
Maintain Risk Rating System and manage commercial loan portfolio.
Conducts annual review on relationships greater than $500M and any new money requests greater than $500M.
Ensure thorough knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory issues relating to loan policy and procedures evidenced by appropriate application of regulations in day-to-day operations.
Understand and maintain a thorough knowledge of the Bank’s services, operations, and organization; communicate this understanding to others when appropriate, and refer inquiries and correspondence to the proper department or individual.

This position starts at $183,184 per year and can increase from there depending on experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or an equivalent degree program.
Minimum Of 10 Year's Experience In Credit Management.
Knowledge of current bank lending procedures and policies, lending regulations (state and federal), lien laws, collection/bankruptcy regulations, and loan documentation preferred.
Possess good judgment skills. Ability to make decisions within prescribed guidelines, research and solve problems, handle confidential information and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Excellent verbal, listening and communication skills. Strong customer relations skills and ability to work with employees and customers in a cooperative manner. Ability and desire to work as part of a team, and with people of diverse backgrounds
Ability to operate office equipment including PC’s, calculators, telephones, voice mail, copy and fax machines. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to drive a vehicle. Must maintain a current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for bank insurance purposes.
