What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Loan Assistant position at Central Bancompany?
POSITION PURPOSE:
Provides assistance to assigned officer(s) in performing duties as a Commercial Loan Officer. Performs majority of administrative paperwork and maintenance of existing customer accounts. Responsible for legendary service and proper phone etiquette while providing for customers.
DUTIES, SCOPE, RESPONSIBLIITIES & AUTHORITY:
Uses discretion in judgment when handling customer overdrafts, advance requests, loan requests, and extensions, communicating with officers as necessary. Must be familiar with bank and departmental policies so decisions are made appropriately. Responsible for checking loan packets for lending limit exceptions, LTV exceptions, real estate evaluations, current financial information, insurance binders, etc. Closes loans after all requirements are met and exceptions have been addressed. Communicates to leadership policy and/or procedural changes which may need to be changed. Responsible for compliance with banking regulations which are applicable to job, including Bank Secrecy Act and information security initiatives.
Qualifications:
Requires a minimum of a high school education. College degree is preferred. Ability and desire to learn is required. Extensive knowledge of loan documentation and regulatory compliance issues is preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills are required. Requires ability to maintain strict confidentiality in administrative and customer issues. Problem solving skills, decision making skills, knowledge of loan process and technical know how and excellent computer skills are needed. Provides front-line contact for all current and potential commercial loan customers. Works closely with all officers and assistants in the Commercial Lending and Mortgage Lending departments. Works closely with the Credit Administration personnel. Has contact with most departments of the bank in order to fulfill requests and answer questions of commercial customers. Contacts title companies, insurance companies, attorneys, state/local/county government agencies.
