Role Description
We are seeking multiple skilled Heavy Diesel Technician both shop and field to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy diesel equipment and be proficient with those repairs on all brands and models. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy diesel equipment, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform thorough inspections to determine necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate records on our business system of work performed, parts used, and time spent on jobs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repair jobs.
- Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices in diesel technology.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment effectively to troubleshoot vehicle problems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating openly with customers about repairs and maintenance.
- Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians, if needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a diesel technician or mechanic.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing heavy diesel engines and systems.
- Familiarity with computer-based diagnostic tools and software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid GA driver’s license required, CDL preferred.
- Certification from an accredited program (e.g., ASE, EPA) is a plus.
