Position Overview
Central Arkansas Physician Group is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our hospitalist team at Unity Health – White County Medical Center in Searcy, Arkansas.
This position provides an opportunity to work collaboratively with an experienced hospitalist team while delivering high-quality care to hospitalized and observation patients. The APP will examine, diagnose, and treat patients under appropriate physician supervision and will play an integral role in the evaluation and ongoing management of acute and chronic medical conditions.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time hospital-based position designed to provide appropriate inpatient and observation coverage. The APP will work 12-hour shifts, 7 days on / 7 days off, with day and night shift rotations. Day shifts are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and night shifts are from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Key Responsibilities
The Advanced Practice Provider will work closely with supervising hospitalists and other members of the healthcare team. Responsibilities include:
- Make rounds on hospitalized patients and manage ongoing inpatient care.
- Evaluate observation patients and assist in determining whether hospital admission is required.
- Obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations.
- Diagnose illnesses and injuries and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Develop, implement, and manage treatment plans in consultation with supervising hospitalists.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including laboratory testing, blood tests, and imaging.
- Order, prescribe, dispense, and administer medications.
- Counsel patients and families regarding medical conditions, medications, treatment plans, preventive care, self-care practices, and lifestyle modifications.
- Write admission and other medical orders as requested by supervising hospitalists.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, including examination findings, test results, diagnoses, medications, and treatments.
Qualifications
Candidates for the APP position must:
- Hold a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Arkansas.
- Maintain current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), as applicable.
- Hold a current DEA registration/license.
- Maintain current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

- Strong communication skills, particularly listening skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently, particularly during periods of high patient volume.
- Ability to provide competent, high-quality medical care consistent with accepted professional and ethical standards.
- Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with supervising hospitalists and a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
