Job Summary
Assists the Head Coach with all aspects of the Central Arizona College NJCAA Division I athletics program including recruiting and supervision of student athletes; securing academic enrollment and campus housing for student athletes; coordinating and supervising practices; coordinating and facilitating fundraising activities; overseeing travel; managing and allocating scholarship budget for baseball, scheduling games, managing related social media accounts, overseeing related academic performance; and providing oversight of the daily operations of the sports program including field/facility maintenance and strength and conditioning programs.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Head Coach in developing, managing, and directing the successful athletics program.
- Assists the Head Coach with all aspects of the assigned team including training, competing and scheduling; assists with the recruitment, enrollment and educational effort of the student athletes on the team; and monitors and reports student athlete academic, athletic, and social progress.
- Organizes and maintains accurate inventory of athletic equipment and uniforms.
- Plans practices; schedules games; develops game strategy; and handles game management.
- Coordinates travel and related meals arrangements; manages expense reports for travel card.
- Manages baseball scholarship budget.
- Secures campus housing and enrollment of student athletes.
- Works cooperatively with campus representatives outside the Sports and Fitness Division and Athletics Department to develop and sustain positive experiences academically and socially for student athletes.
- Provides oversight of field and facility maintenance.
- Assists with NJCAA eligibility checks.
- Manages related social media accounts.
- Conducts fundraising activities.
- May teach up to three (3) credits as part of assigned duties each semester.
- Performs other duties commensurate with functions and level of position or as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of related experience.
SPECIAL POSITION CONDITIONS: None.
Background Verification: As a condition of employment, all candidates accepting an offer of employment for a full-time, part- time, temporary, student worker, or volunteer position, will be required to undergo a Background Verification. Employment with Central Arizona College is contingent upon the successful completion of the background verification. The level the background verification for this position is: Standard level.

- Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations, federal and state laws, rules, and regulations regarding area of practice.

- Skill in working with a diverse multi-ethnic, multi-cultural population.
- Ability to apply NJCAA rules and regulations.
- Ability to apply a variety of fundraising techniques and strategies.
- Ability to design, implement, and sustain athlete recruitment initiatives and restrictions.
- Ability to analyze situations, develop solutions, and make independent decisions based on established guidelines.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with College staff, faculty, administrators, and outside contractors.
