What are the responsibilities and job description for the Release of Information Assistant II position at CentraCare?
Find your purpose as a Release of Information Assistant II at CentraCare. As a Release of Information Assistant II you will apply critical thinking to analyze, coordinate and process moderate to complex requests for the release of health information in an organized, efficient, and confidential manner. You would be required to have knowledge of current release of health information regulations set forth by the State of Minnesota, the Federal Government, HIPAA, and other regulatory bodies. Ability to use and interpret the Minnesota "Legal Manual" on release of information. Effectively correspond to insurance companies, representatives, patients, medical and legal offices, and attorneys. You would also be responsible for billing of health records sent to requestors and maintain all ROI work queues.
Schedule:
- Full-time 80 hours every 2 weeks
- Monday - Friday 8:30a-5:00p
- Onsite at the CentraCare Plaza, St. Cloud or at Rice Memorial Hospital, Willmar.
Pay & Benefits:
- Starting pay is $18.19 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience.
- Pay range: $17.71-$26.54 per hour

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification or 3 years of experience specifically in Release of Information required in lieu of certification.
- Experience with Release of Information is preferred.
- Post High School degree completion of at least 2-year HIM related program preferred.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent prioritizing and problem-solving skills required.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Computer knowledge and keyboard skills required.
- Must be knowledgeable in the area of confidentiality and release of information standards.
