This Supervisor role in our new CentraCare Plaza Sterile Processing Department will supervise and assess the quality of work activities of all Sterile Processing personnel to insure safe, compliant and timely reprocessing of medical devices. You will also be responsible for conducting interviews, selecting and hiring, as well as coordinating orientation to develop qualified personnel.
In this Supervisor role, you will be actively working alongside personnel, while ensuring daily questions and concerns are addressed. This position will support and implement training for the Sterile Processing Department to ensure patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.
This position also is responsible for daily oversight of regulatory standards, financial stewardship of department operations and collaboration with other management and supervisory team members to support the department in its daily functions.
Schedule:
- Full time | 80 hours every 2 weeks
- Day shift | 8-hour | 8am to 4:30pm
Pay and Benefits (Total Rewards):
- Wage rates start at $22.40 per hour, offering more with experience.
- Full wage scale for this role: $22.40- $33.58

Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience working in a Sterile Processing Department, or
- 3 years of management experience in a related healthcare field.
- Must have a working knowledge of microbiology, infection control principles, sterilization practices and inventory handling and management.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required within 1 Year of hire.
- Educational requirements and certified status must be maintained throughout the duration of employment.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED upon hire.
- Associate degree is preferred
- Secondary Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL)
- Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS)
- Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) or other secondary certification.
Other Job Functions:
- Assist with education, training and ensuring competencies of new and current staff on Sterile Processing standards and procedures.
- Develops educational plans for Sterile Processing employees and evaluates employees based on CentraCare policies and procedures and infection control guidelines.
- Responsible for coaching staff and providing an open line of communication for staff to voice concerns, give feedback or make suggestions.
- Help staff develop individual plans to meet career goals through educational, mentoring and other self-growth opportunities.
