Genetics Counselor

Summary

• Our Genetic Counselors empower patients by guiding them through genetic risks and diagnoses within CentraCare, including St. Cloud Hospital. • Work in a variety of areas including pre-conceptual, prenatal, pediatric, adult, cardiac, and cancer counseling. This position allows counselors to be trained in a number of areas with the opportunity to focus on 2-3 clinics of interest over a period of time.
• This counselor will provide expertise in clinical genetics to counsel and support individuals and families on the implications of genetic conditions and traits.
• The genetic counselor will also be involved in educating providers and training genetic counseling students, and keeping the local community updated on current guidelines for genetic risk recommendations.

Schedule

• Full-time | 80 hours per two weeks | salaried position

• Monday through Friday, daytime work schedule

Pay and Benefits

• Starting pay begins at $82,701 annual salary: exact wage determined by years of related experience
  • Pay range: $82,701 to $111,842 annual salary
• $7,500 hiring bonus for eligible candidates!

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an American Board of Genetic Counseling accredited genetic counseling program required.
• Board Eligible or Certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling required.
• Licensed by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice within 6 months of completing Genetic Counseling degree.

Our Genetics Team

Our multidisciplinary team serves central and rural Minnesota through both in-person visits and telehealth genetic counseling. Join a team of seven Genetic Counselors to provide pre-conceptual, prenatal, pediatric, adult, cardiac, and cancer counseling.
