CentraCare is proud to offer a paid, 10-week Summer Nurse Internship designed to prepare future nurses for success in a real-world clinical environment. As a Nurse Intern, you'll work alongside experienced Registered Nurse preceptors who are dedicated to your growth and success - providing mentorship, guidance, and support throughout your journey.
With over 360 hours of hands-on clinical experience, this internship will strengthen your clinical judgment, enhance your confidence, and bridge the gap between classroom learning and clinical practice. Many of our interns receive job offers prior to graduation, setting them up for a seamless transition into a nursing role.

Internship Locations
You will be considered for all CentraCare locations and units upon applying. You may select your top 3 units of interest on the application. For more information on available hospitals and units, click here.

Internship Dates & Details
- Application Deadline: December 23, 2025 (by 4:00 PM)
- Internship Offers Begin: February 2, 2026 (at 8:00 AM)
- Duration: June 1 - August 7, 2026 (10 weeks)

Schedule: Full-time (72-80 hours every two weeks)
- Must be available to work all shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
- 8- or 12- hour shifts (or a combination) depending on the unit
- You will follow your RN preceptor's schedule (schedules will be known in late May)
- Flat Rate: $22.50 per hour
- Benefits: Temporary internship; not benefit-eligible

Eligibility Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an ADN or BSN nursing program with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required (cannot expire during internship)
- Must be enrolled in an internship course (through a college of your choice) within the state of Minnesota for the entire 10-week program
- 3.0 GPA or higher preferred
- Previous healthcare experience (e.g., Nursing Assistant) preferred but not required
