What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scribe Team Lead-Limbo Stroobants Cardiology position at Centra Medical Group?
The Lead Scribe is an experienced working scribe who, in addition to performing all scribe job functions, has the responsibility of assisting the scribe Supervisor in some aspects of the day to day operations of the scribe program. This includes assisting with the recruitment and training of new scribes; development and implementation of scribe training/education, and scheduling; assisting in the evaluation of skill level of all scribes and participating in mentoring of new scribes.
Required Education: High School Diploma / GED. Successful completion of a Medical Terminology course
Preferred Education: Current college student (or recent graduate) in Pre-Med, Nursing, or related medical studies
Required Experience: One (1) year of experience as a scribe
Leadership in the planning, development and implementation of education and training of new hire scribes in collaboration with Supervisor of scribes
Evaluates and monitors the progress of each new scribe during their training/educational phase with the assistance of the teaching scribe. Provides feedback to scribe Supervisor regarding progress of each new scribe
Creates and monitors new hire training schedule with guidance from scribe Supervisor
Participates in the recruiting and interview process of potential scribe candidates
Mentor and train new scribes
Provides and receives constructive feedback as it related to performance in an appropriate manner
Accurately documents the patient encounter, to include, but not limited to, history, physical examination, treatments and procedures performed
Track laboratory and radiology results and ensure the completion and signature of charts
Enter lab results, radiograph and EKG Interpretations, progress notes, procedures and consultations into the EMR
Completes all assigned procedures, all required documentation within a reasonable time frame and checks for any incomplete charts at the end of the shift
Routinely recognizes opportunities and takes actions to enhance unit, department and organizational communication
Demonstrates ability to collaboratively work with other departments
May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time
