What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Unit Coordinator position at Centra Care?
As a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) for the CentraCare Monticello Emergency Department, you serve a vital role in being the communication link for the unit. Responsibilities will include greeting and assisting patients/families, guests, and providers as well as managing telephone communications, organizing and maintaining patient charts, and performing clerical and receptionist duties to support patient care.
Schedule
- Part-time | 60 hours every two weeks | Onsite
- Night shift | 12-hour shift
- 7pm-7:30am Every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays
Pay and Benefits:
- Starting pay begins at $19.42 per hour and increases with experience
- Pay range: $19.42-29.39 per hour

Qualifications
- One year completion of a hospital unit secretary program (or willingness to obtain within one (1) year of employment) preferred.
- One-year clerical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Self-directed and ability to multi-task Strong interpersonal human relations skills and ability to communicate effectively in English.
