As a Direct Support Professional, you will be instrumental in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Utilizing core skills in caregiving, assisted living and patient care, you will assist with activities of daily living, offer companionship, and ensure a safe and nurturing environment. Your relevant skills in first aid and working with people with intellectual disabilities will further enhance your ability to deliver personalized care and promote the well-being of those you support. Duties:
-Interest in working the twelve-hour rotating schedule, 8 PM to 8 AM
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or individuals in need of assistance
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility assistance
- Create a safe and supportive environment for individuals under your care
- Engage in meaningful activities and social interactions with individuals to promote their overall well-being
- Document and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate supervisor
- Accompany individuals to appointments, outings, and community activities as needed
-Rotating Two Week schedule on overnights 8 PM to 8 AM shift three or four days each week, with every other weekend off
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in personal care, working with people with developmental disabilities, senior care, patient care, or direct support is preferred
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record to travel to different locations as required
- Ability to provide compassionate and patient care to individuals with diverse needs
- Knowledge of first aid and basic medical procedures is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
