What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025-2026 Elementary Afternoon Childcare Teacher position at Centerville Baptist Children's Program?
The Elementary After Care Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for elementary aged students during after-school hours. This role includes supervising children, facilitating activities, and assisting with their needs to ensure a positive and structured after-care experience.
Duties
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children in the after-care program.
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, such as games, crafts, and outdoor play.
- Assist children with homework or quiet reading time as needed.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment that fosters learning and growth.
- Ensure smooth transitions between activities, including snack time, outdoor play, and dismissal.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's behavior and any incidents that may occur.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure an organized and efficient program.
- Track student attendance and assist with proper dismissal procedures.
Requirements
- Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Ability to manage a group of children and foster a positive, respectful environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
- Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with children.
Hours:
Part-time, Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Salary : $14 - $17
