Glens Falls Center is actively seeking Recreation Aides for our Skilled Nursing Facility in Glens Falls, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience with recreation therapy/activities and true enjoyment of working with the elderly.

DUTIES:
- Plan, develop, and lead engaging recreation programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and needs.
- Create and maintain monthly activity calendars that reflect variety and innovation.
- Document participation and progress accurately using SigmaCare, PointClickCare, or similar documentation systems
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident well-being and individualized care plans
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards while promoting a positive, inclusive environment
- Versatile in cooking/baking, singing, dancing, arts & crafts, and technology to provide a wide range of activities.
- Design & Implement recreational programs for Residents.
- Work directly with Residents on units, without direct supervision.
- Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested.
- Assist recreation specialists & set up program areas as needed.
- Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities.
- Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units.
- Communicate related information to other individuals directly involved in Resident care
- Be familiar with established emergency procedures.
- Must be upbeat, energetic, enthusiastic, and have a caring personality.
- Enjoy working with the elderly
- Exp. with recreation therapy/activities a plus
- High school diploma/equivalent
- Strong computer skills necessary
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Ability to multi-task
- Experience working with older adults, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
- Certification in dementia care strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of person-centered care philosophy.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems such as SigmaCare or PointClickCare.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to create innovative and engaging calendars/programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
