Job Overview

CNSO is a multispecialty healthcare company dedicated to treating brain and spine patients. We are seeking an operations and business development professional to manage and support the CNSO Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation Department team. This individual would be customer service focused, driven to expand the division through quality service and action. Customers are patients who incurred a neurological or musculoskeletal injury, attorneys, nurse case managers, and adjustors. In this role, you will serve as a primary point of contact and a managerial delegator to ensure quality control of the necessary intake and follow-up administrative processes. These processes involve a combination of clinical, legal, insurance, and financial data processing that the right candidate will either possess or be easily taught. After completion of orientation and training, this individual will maintain the seamless injured patient registration, will proactively ensure account follow-up are documented in the accounting system from either the insurance company or the legal settlement, and will provide quality reporting of the predetermined metrics to upper management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and ensure all other members of the department secure detailed intake interviews with patients to gather accident details.
  • Confirm auto insurance policy benefits and claim numbers are correctly entered into the EMR system.
  • Oversee the securing of PIP and WC authorizations for medical treatments working with both administrative staff, doctors, and adjustors.
  • Obtain critical supporting legal documentation, including police reports and letters of protection to support the patient’s case.
  • Maintain a close correspondence with the patient’s attorney to secure a positive settlement for the patient’s case.
  • Accurately enter PIP insurance payments, attorney settlements, and patient co-pays into the EMR billing system.
  • Accurately report the patient’s account balances to their attorney and upper management.
  • Audit patients’ medical records to ensure comprehensive administrative records are maintained by the PIP and WC and Revenue Cycle Department members.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience in a customer service-oriented medical, insurance, legal or financial business.
  • Experience with excel data entry and analytics.
  • Computer programing language of Python, SQL, Tableau, or a language learning model a plus but not a requirement.
  • Experience with insurance verification, authorizations, account follow-up, and/or payment posting.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Insurance, Workers’ Compensation Insurance, medical billing, medical provider’s office, healthcare administration, or related field.
  • Understanding of auto insurance guidelines, no-fault laws, and/or medical terminology is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, especially eClinicalWorks highly beneficial but not a requirement.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare insurance billing.
  • Experience working with attorneys, personal injury cases, or medical practices.
  • Relationship-building and business development experience.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and support a team.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
