What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marina Crew/Dock Hand position at CenterPointe Marina?
Do you want a fun summer job? Centerpointe Marina is looking for Dockhands for the summer months. This position could start as early as end of April and run to the end in September as well. The Dockhand is responsible for assisting the marina team in providing World Class Customer Service to our slip holders. This can be a fast paced environment, we need people that can adapt efficiently to changing schedules or priorities while providing excellent customer service. This is a great opportunity for students, teachers, retired, etc. Minimum age is 16.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the safe arrival and departure of vessels from all slips and docks
- Walk docks each day to tidy up dock lines, hoses ,look for boats potentially in trouble..not tied properly, potentially taking on water, return any unused dock carts to the proper area, etc.
- Provide sanitary pump out services to guest vessels when needed
- Attend to the marina and provide excellent customer service
- Complete marina administrative requirements, sales of marina clothing, using Dockwa for transient boaters, sales transactions, etc.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety in club house/marina area including cleaning bathrooms, showers, taking out garbage, performs all duties in compliance with safety guidelines and requirements, and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to Marina Manager
- Make note of contents and location of any accumulation of boater belongings or trash that needs to be addressed, report any such accumulation to the Marina Manager.
- Note any repairs needed to docks, dock boxes, electrical towers, grounds, club house, etc. and report any needed repairs to Marina Manager
- Testing the pool chemicals daily and ensuring the pool area is clean, chairs wiped down/clean, etc.
- Ability to work safely around water, swimming ability, ability to lift 30 pounds.
- Monitor VHF/Marine radio and phones
- Treat coworkers with respect and have a positive attitude.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, special events
- Other duties assigned by marina manager

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
