The Laboratory Phlebotomist performs collections of blood samples and specimens efficiently and appropriately following hospital and department standards and policies. Under the supervision of a Medical Technologist, the Phlebotomist may also performs routine technical functions, CLIA waived analyses and quality control. Job Summary And Qualifications

What you will do in this role:
- You will greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods.
- You will draw blood specimens from patients by using finger sticks, heel sticks or venipunctures and collect other specimens as required.
- You will label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer.
- You will prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments.
- You will assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls.
- Graduate of Phlebotomy Course required
- Additional 1 year of experience preferred.
- Hospital experienced highly desired and preferred.
- MINIMUM 8-10 sticks/hour.
- If phlebotomy program has not been completed, then must have one-year experience in a medical laboratory required or college course work in biological/chemical sciences.
- Six months computer keyboarding or equivalent preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
