CenterPoint Energy is looking for an Associate Electric Engineer to join our Major Underground Team, located in Houston, TX.
You will have the ability to: provide engineering and technical support services associated with the design, construction, and operation of CenterPoint Energy's overhead & underground distribution system.

Your background includes:
Education: Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Experience: No work experience required.
A bonus to have:
- Able to use a PC, CAD equipment.
- Able to use mathematics, including trigonometry and calculus, to complete complex engineering design calculations and relate mathematical solutions to actual utility situations.
- Able to interpret, analyze and produce electrical models, drawings, and technical documents.
- Able to apply knowledge of electrical theory and system operations to daily decisions.
- Able to make informed decisions, follow procedures and comply with policies based on the knowledge of the work and the services provided by CenterPoint Energy.
- Able to calculate system short circuit quantities using sequence networks.
- Able to communicate effectively with engineering, construction personnel, customers, and others in written and verbal form.
- Able to prioritize and schedule tasks, pay attention to detail and demonstrate good organizational skills.
- Able to work and participate successfully in a team environment to accomplish assignments.
- Able to work well with both technical and non-technical personnel to gather and exchange information, resolve issues, plan activities, and meet or exceed objectives.
