As the Administrative Assistant, you are responsible for performing and/or coordinating financial and analytical activities and studies, as well as preparing a wide variety of ad hoc data analysis. Responsible for fiscal budgeting processes for multiple departments; completing monthly variance reporting, and projections. Provide invoice processing and financial analyses necessary to support targeted business objectives and performance management, with analysis of key cost drivers. Participates in strategic initiatives of moderate to complex process design, re-engineering and system development of performance tools and measures. Works cooperatively with cross-functional teams in the development of processes/programs/initiatives to analyze and report on key cost drivers. Integral team member to drive operational excellence to improve Gas Engineering performance. Assists in developing training for Gas Engineering personnel in performance metric reporting and analysis.
Specifically, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Responsible for performing and/or coordinating financial and analytical activities and studies. Works constructively with the multiple Departments budgeting and reporting processes, completing monthly variance reporting, projections and participating in developing fiscal budgets. Assists in implementing productivity initiatives in support of Gas Engineering’s strategic objectives. Monitors Gas Engineering performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives which support energy delivery’s strategic objectives. Supports implementation of performance dashboards supplying Gas Engineering performance metrics. Supports ongoing reviews of Gas Engineering metrics, targets, and initiatives in support of Energy Delivery strategic objectives Receive, process, verify rates, and validate invoices ensuring accuracy from multiple contractors for multiple projects. Ensure timely approval and payment of these invoices.
Assists in developing and coordinating training for Gas Engineering personnel in performance metric reporting and analysis. Supports benchmarking, baseline initiatives and assesses the effectiveness of technology implementation strategies. Participates in strategic initiatives of moderate to complex process design and system development of performance measures. Able to use multiple data mining and analysis tools, for example Hyperion, Golden Retriever, OBIEE Answers, MDSI reports, G4 ViryaNet Queries, and BOSS.
Works cooperatively with Departments, such as Billing, Collections, Dispatch, Customer Contact Center, and Operations Scheduling in the development of processes/programs/initiatives to analyze and report issues where their strategic business decisions and practices affect the operational performance of Energy Delivery. Acts as integral team member to drive engineering excellence to improve Gas Engineering performance. Engages in development of appropriate reports to support performance management or Gas Engineering management. Performs user acceptance testing, develops test strategies, and test cases for dashboards and other system integrations.
Demonstrates ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Excellent written and oral communications skills and must be able to interface with employees, including Department Managers, Divisional Managers.
Ensures accuracy and integrity of data produced, results reported; accepts accountability and works cohesively in a team environment that stresses attention to detail and commitment to superior performance. Ability to support and participate in special projects as directed.
Demonstrates ability to manage multiple priorities and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; has the ability to meet multiple engineering reporting and documentation deadlines. Monitors performance targets of Gas Engineering against baseline and assigned goals. Assists with project activities relative to data preparation for go-live of new technologies, such as Dashboards, MAXIMO, Hyperion Interactive Reporting and other change management, process, and performance improvement initiatives. Schedules and coordinates meetings, conferences, flights, etc. Orders and maintains office supplies as needed. Maintains log of reported defects reported for various technical products.
Training and Development: Develops and provides ongoing training to management for energy delivery performance dashboards; provides technical support to Gas Engineering managers in support of initiatives created to achieve ED’s performance metrics and supporting initiatives; ongoing Development of professional and technical skills.

Functional/Technical Competency Requirements Required: Solid analytical skills; strong technical aptitude, technical software skills, database systems, and statistical knowledge. Strong desire to excel in a performance management/continuous improvement environment; strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet aggressive deadlines. MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, and Word. Prefer extensive knowledge of Access, Banner, MDSI, WFS, Hyperion, Obvient Dashboards, MAXIMO, Oracle, and other technical reporting tools.
Possess the necessary level of knowledge and skills in Performance Metrics. Standards of measurement by which efficiency, performance, progress or quality of a plan, process or product can be assessed. Budget Management. Financial report estimating costs, revenues and resources over a specified period, reflecting a reading of the future financial conditions and goals. Auditing. Systematic examination and verification of company's books of account, transaction records, other relevant documents, and physical inspection of inventory by qualified auditors.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or 4 years of experience in related fields.
0 – 2 years of experience in business intelligence analysis; business process analysis; quality improvement Initiatives; accounting/budgeting.
Preferred Experience, Education and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree with major/minor in business or accounting.
