Job Summary

Reporting to the OSP Field Manager, this Outside Plant Field Surveyor is an autonomous position for someone with at lease 3 years of experience in the Sacramento CA area. This role is responsible for supporting the Outside Plant Field Manager while performing site walks.

What Will You Do

• Record field notes and measurements utlizing tablets, height sticks, cameras & measuring wheels 
• Attend site walks and walk the site for fielding notes and measurements.
• Support Field Engineer on site walks.
• Carry equipment for fielding notes.

What You Will Need

• Ability to write reports, correspondence, and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to walk for multiple hours at a time, have general labor experience & ability to learn
• Occassional out-of-town trips with overnight stays.
• Experience utilizing hand tools is desired but not required
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• High School Diploma required

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• This job operates in an outdoor work environment and in extreme occasional weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. This role routinely travels to customer sites as needed.
• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• This position is considered medium work.
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
• The employee is frequently required to sit at a computer workstation, stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascending or descending ladders, stairs scaffolding, ramps, and the like using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.

Expected compensation includes $25 to $29 an hour and benefits including medical, vision, and dental benefits, and 401k retirement plan available for eligible employees. Compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as an individual’s education, training, experience, skills, geographic location, seniority, merit, and other factors that are job-related and consistent with business need.
