Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a friendly attitude, providing exceptional guest services from arrival to departure
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and seating charts efficiently using restaurant table management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, assisting with reservations and general questions
- Coordinate guest seating to optimize table utilization while maintaining comfort and flow within the restaurant
- Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times clearly to guests
- Support food safety standards by ensuring cleanliness in the host/hostess station and adhering to health guidelines
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure seamless guest experiences and timely service
Requirements
- Previous host/hostess experience or food service background preferred, with a strong focus on customer service excellence
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong organizational abilities
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, wait times, and seating calculations
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and professional phone communication techniques
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods during busy service hours
- Understanding of food safety practices and hospitality standards is a plus
