About CYF
The Center for Youth Finance (CYF) is a youth-led nonprofit researching how financial systems, banking access, and consumer financial products impact American teenagers. We publish policy briefs for lawmakers and educators, and work directly to help teens access the financial tools they deserve. We launched our first policy brief in May 2026 and are now building our core team.

What You'll Do
Depending on your role, responsibilities may include:
- Researching financial policy topics and summarizing findings
- Writing and editing sections of policy briefs
- Managing CYF's social media presence and outreach campaigns
- Contacting educators, legislators, and staffers on behalf of CYF
- Coordinating events, workshops, and school partnerships
- Overseeing internal systems, timelines, and team operations
- Leading a research division and managing contributors
Qualifications
All roles:
- Currently enrolled in middle school or high school
- Genuine interest in financial policy, economics, or nonprofit work
- Strong written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
Leadership roles (Director and above):
- Prior experience in research, writing, leadership, or communications preferred
- Ability to manage others and take ownership of a division or department

Vice President:
- Strong leadership background required
- Must demonstrate ability to oversee multiple teams and work directly with the President
- Cover letter required
Time Commitment
Flexible. We ask for a minimum of 2–4 hours per week depending on your role. Leadership roles may require more.
