Center for Women's Health is seeking an experienced Patient Representative for our busy OB/GYN practice. This position requires strong, hands-on experience with insurance verification, benefits verification, scheduling, and patient check-in/check-out. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and work independently with minimal training.
Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket requirements.
- Confirm provider and practice network participation and identify referral or authorization requirements.
- Navigate insurance company websites and provider portals.
- Accurately input demographic and insurance information in the EMR.
- Schedule, reschedule and cancel patient appointments according to practice and provider guidelines.
- Check patients in and out and collect copays and other applicable payments.
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
- Prepare encounter forms and required patient documentation.
- Answer phones and assist patients with questions and scheduling needs.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and billing staff.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow practice policies.
Qualifications:
- Previous medical office and scheduling experience is a must.
- Experience navigating insurance websites and provider portals.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, professional and team-oriented.
Preferred:
- OB/GYN or Women's Health experience.
- Experience with NextGen Office.
- Experience with referrals, authorizations and insurance benefit limitations.
This is not an entry-level position. Candidates should have substantial prior experience with medical insurance verification and scheduling.
Must be able to reliably commute to NW Oklahoma City, pass a background check and drug screening.
