Summary:
The Center for Veterans Research and Education (CVRE), whose mission is to help support innovative research and education initiatives that improve the health and well-being of Veterans, is seeking a Grants and Contracts Administrator to support the management of its sponsored programs.

Position Description:
The Grants and Contracts Administrator works under minimal supervision to provide support and assistance with the management of federal awards, foundation grants, and industry sponsored contracts to ensure programmatic compliance, and the development of proposals and applications for funding. The incumbent is a self-starter, with excellent communication skills (verbal and written), is quality and detail orientated, has the ability to organize and prioritize workload, and ensures all deadlines are met. This position will report to the Grants Administration Manager and will assist the Clinical Trials Manager as needed.

Responsibilities:
Major duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for incoming requests and inquiries.
  • Assist the Grants Administration Manager, Clinical Trials Manager and/or research staff with the initiation of a research study.
  • Support the processing and/or negotiation of federal prime awards and subawards, grants, contracts, CRADA’s, service agreements, and confidentiality disclosure agreements.
  • Assist in preparing and gathering submission documents for grant proposals and industry sponsored trials. Assist in uploading submission documents to portals.
  • Assist in developing budgets and budget justifications, and reviews for inconsistencies and calculation accuracy.
  • Support the processing of amendments, renewals and other items during the study lifecycle.
  • Monitor studies for reporting and/or auditing requirements and produces and submits documents to reporting entities.
  • Maintain study tracking system.
  • Maintain electronic folders and files for per records management policies and procedures.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Mails checks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Minimum Associates Degree – Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or above

Experience: 0-2 years of contracts/grants experience for GCA I
Minimum 2 years of contracts/grants experience for GCA II

Licensure/Registration/Certification:
None

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Highly organized and skilled in time management with a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in coordinating multiple tasks and project elements with differing timelines and completion deadlines
  • Ability to understand and recall status of grant projects at any stage
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with an electronic grant management system or similar is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Typical hours fall within standard business hours, work may be required during hours beyond standard business hours, including weekends

Physical Requirements:
