TMJ & Sleep Solutions NW is the only practice in Kitsap County and the Olympic Peninsula dedicated to the non-surgical treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), craniofacial pain, and sleep-related breathing disorders. Through an integrated approach that combines medical care, dental sleep medicine, and durable medical equipment (DME) services, we help patients suffering from sleep apnea, snoring, chronic pain, and related conditions.

What You'll Do:
Medical Billing & Claims Processing
- Enter charges, procedure codes, modifiers, and patient information accurately and timely
- Review clinical documentation to ensure appropriate billing and coding compliance
- Submit clean electronic claims to insurance carriers
- Monitor claim status and resolve claim rejections promptly
- Conduct thorough follow-up on unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims
- Research payer issues and identify trends impacting reimbursement
- Work aging accounts receivable to maximize collections and reduce outstanding balances
Appeals & Claims Resolution
- Investigate denied and rejected claims and determine appropriate corrective action
- Prepare and submit insurance appeals with supporting documentation
- Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve payment issues and obtain claim status updates
- Track appeal outcomes and ensure timely follow-up until resolution
Payment Posting & Reconciliation
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately
- Reconcile account balances, adjustments, and payment discrepancies
- Identify and resolve posting errors and reimbursement variances
Patient Account Support
- Assist patients with billing questions, balances, payment plans, and insurance concerns
- Maintain detailed and accurate account documentation
- Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism and empathy
Compliance & Quality
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Follow payer guidelines, billing regulations, and company policies
- Support internal audits and process improvement initiatives
- Help ensure clean claims, accurate reimbursement, and billing accuracy
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Previous medical billing, accounts receivable, or healthcare billing experience
- Experience with insurance claim follow-up and denial resolution
- Experience preparing and submitting appeals
- Strong understanding of medical insurance billing processes
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DME, sleep medicine, dental sleep medicine, or specialty healthcare billing
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and practice management systems
- Knowledge of Medicare, commercial insurance, and prior authorization requirements
