JOB GOAL: To assess and provide a well-designed educational plan and instruction for students with disabilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct service to students with disabilities, consult with other staff on student and educational issues, work in inclusion and resource classrooms
- Knowledgeable about accommodations and modifications.
- Knowledge regarding MCAS Accommodations and Alt. MCAS Development
- Participate in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process by attending IEP meetings, work collaboratively with IEP team members, complete and prepare IEP paperwork, and deliver instruction in a meaningful and appropriate way to enable students to progress toward goals outlined in the IEP.
- Complete Progress Reports.
- Develop individualized lesson plans that meet criteria for specially designed instruction
- Plan, implement, and adapt instructional activities
- Administer appropriate educational assessments to determine eligibility for special education and to gather data for the development of the IEP
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curricular goals, and in congruency with those goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects
- Provide appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques in order to maintain a safe and effective learning environment
- Collaborate with Relate Service professionals.
- Communicate routinely with parents and other school personnel
- Perform duties to keep classroom area neat, clean, and safe
- Be able to support a remote learning environment.
- Supervise support staff (paraprofessionals/tutors)
